Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has hailed the official re-opening of Lyme Regis Police Station’s front-desk on the 23rd June 2023 as a key step forward in the fight against Anti Social Behaviour and Drug Crime. After much campaigning by the local MP for increased police services, the town’s Police Station will now be open for two days a week on Tuesday and Thursday 09.30 to 15.30. Mr Loder said:
“It’s brilliant news that Lyme Regis Police Station’s front-desk is now re-open. The town has been without a functioning front-desk since 2011 and I am very glad that the service has now been restored by Dorset Police and I am grateful to Police Commissioner David Sidwick for prioritising Lyme Regis with extra services.
“Our local community in Lyme Regis has struggled with disruptive Anti-Social Behaviour and drug crime. There is absolutely no excuse for this behaviour, and I hope that the re-opening of the front-desk will make reporting crime in-person more accessible and enable a much faster response to tackle these issues’.
