Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has slammed Sherborne’s Liberal Democrats for their unbridled support of the West Sherborne proposal, which would see the development of at least 1,500 homes to the west of Sherborne, despite previously opposing the plans.
West Dorset’s MP Chris Loder has received the backing of the Environment Secretary in opposing a 43-acre solar farm at Maiden Newton. Mr Loder and the Environment Secretary were united in their opposition on grounds of unjustifiable damage to the Dorset National Landscape (formerly AONB).
West Dorset’s MP, Chris Loder, has called for the UK’s food self-sufficiency to be ‘way above’ current levels. At present, the UK is 60% self-sufficient in all foods but relies heavily on imports of fruit and vegetables.
West Dorset’s water companies will soon face a fourfold increase in inspections as part of the Government’s plan to tackle illegal discharges and poor performance. Chris Loder MP welcomes the plans, which the Environment Agency has already started.
Chris Loder MP hosted a ministerial Q&A on the 29th February with students of Kingston Maurward College; the Minister for Rural Growth, Robbie Moore; and Baroness Rock. Current agricultural students at the college were also able to ask Mr Loder and the Ministers any questions.
